Julie has been an educator in many capacities for more than 20 years. She earned a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Minnesota in 1998, and has 16 years of experience as an educator. Julie received her initial 200 hour teacher training certificate in 2011 from the Yoga Center of Minneapolis. She went on to complete her 500 hour (Sept. 2014) and 800 hour (Sept. 2018) certifications through Inner Peace Yoga Therapy, and is a certified yoga therapist (C-IAYT) through the International Association of Yoga Therapists.

Julie has also completed a certification and mentorship program with Pain Care U (Neil Pearson, British Columbia). She has become a teacher and facilitator working with people living with Chronic Pain. She teaches therapeutic yoga classes at HealthPartners Neuroscience Center in St. Paul as well as Tria Orthopedic Center in Bloomington and Woodbury, MN. She is the owner and founder of Santosha Yoga Therapy, seeing private clients for yoga therapy sessions. The word "Santosha" is sanskrit for contentment. Sanskrit is a Hindu language often used in yoga to describe the asanas, or poses, as well as yoga philosophy.
