Mindful Yoga -A gentle yoga class for those who would like a slower, therapeutic pace, and those struggling with chronic pain.
Chair Yoga is a therapeutic adaptive exercise program that promotes well being through correct posture, breath work, and guided gentle movements. It lengthens and stretches the body in a way that will open up and bring awareness to the body. In this class, we will relax and rejuvenate your body and mind as well as improve flexibility and mobility. Yoga elevates the mood and is beneficial for your overall health and well-being. Whether you are a senior, someone who works at a desk all day, or you struggle with chronic pain, this class is for you.
Yoga Therapy varies from all other forms of yoga in that it addresses the individual specifically, working with clients struggling with varying illnesses, physical aliments, diseases, mental/emotional struggles and the like. Some examples of these are: chronic pain, back pain, GI Issues, joint pain, post surgery recovery, insomnia, heart disease, cancer, recovery from addictions, and more. It incorporates the many elements of yogic philosophy and may include: pranayama, meditation, mudras, Ayurveda, chakras, koshas and more.
Hatha Yoga is a slow, deep, purifying practice that will challenge and expand your body-mind awareness. Ha-tha, literally meaning "sun and moon", refers to the balancing of our receptive (yin) and our active (yang) energies. This balance is achieved through slow-flowing movement, well-aligned asanas (postures), pranayama (breathwork), intentional core engagement, and meditation. A regular Hatha practice will help you dissolve barriers that may have you stuck in habitual and limiting patterns, opening you to transformation from the inside out. Yin Yoga, accessible to all, is often called "the quiet yoga." It is a seated and prone practice that induces a deeper state of flexibility and awareness through sustained holds, allowing muscles to relax, and energy to flow more freely. It emphasizes the connective tissue, or fascia of the body, and allows the mind to calm. (Available as a private yoga session)
Restorative Yoga is a class of poses supported with props to soothe the nervous system, facilitate deep relaxation, and bring the body back into balance. Class may also include meditation and pranayama to nourish the body and mind. (Available as a private yoga session)
