Pain Care U is an organization out of British Columbia, Canada that provides excellent educational and experiential workshops, mentorships, and trainings for those struggling with chronic pain as well as for those working along side them in the health care industry or yoga therapy realms. PARTS I & II: PAIN CARE YOGA CERTIFICATION COURSE
Who should attend? This training is for health care professionals, yoga therapists and yoga teachers, as well as those struggling with chronic pain.
Part I – Pain Care Yoga Dates & Times:
Fri-Sun, Oct 11-13, 2019 | 8-5pm daily
Part II – Overcome Pain Gentle Yoga Dates & Times:
Fri-Sun, Nov 15-17, 2019 | 9am-4pm daily
Part III – Case Study: on own – but tuition covers the cost of review by Neil Pearson
Teachers: Lisa Pearson/Swami Swarupananda, Julie Williams (Neil Pearson will ‘zoom’ in for pain science portion)
CEs: 50 with: IAYT and Yoga Alliance, PTs, OTs, etc.

PART II: OVERCOME PAIN GENTLE YOGA – A WORKSHOP FOR PEOPLE WHO LIVE WITH PAIN
People with persistent pain who are not involved as a case study or certification may attend Part II only.

This course provides in-depth integration of pain science, innovative pain self management techniques, yoga philosophy, and yoga practices. Participants will gain a solid foundation in pain science and in yoga related to pain and pain management. Daily yoga practices and pain self-management skills acquisition will ready teachers and practitioners to begin integration of Pain Care Yoga into their clinical practices and yoga classes, leading to improved benefits and outcomes. Participants will be able to describe basic pain neurophysiology as well as eight key neuroplastic changes related to chronic pain, demonstrate instructing a client in the guidelines for how to move in the face of pain, including the five key questions that increase success of recovery of function, list four benefits of breathing and body awareness techniques, and nine benefits of practicing yoga postures, specifically related to the lived experience of pain.
