Educational Coaching and Yoga Therapy for Children
Is your child struggling with the format of the traditional education system?
Julie works with children struggling with: anxiety & depression, peer & teacher interactions, standardized testing and more.
What is Educational Coaching? Yoga Therapy? And how might it help my child? Educational Coaching goes beyond ‘tutoring’. As an educational coach, I establish a relationship with your child built on mutual trust and respect. I observe how they approach life, school, friendships, etc. If there are gaps in learning, or your child struggles with how students are taught in education today, I can work with your child in areas such as: tutoring on specific subject material, organizational skills to help them “keep things simple”, relationship assistance (i.e. struggles with peers and/or teachers), confidence and self esteem building, relaxation techniques, mindfulness tools, and breath work to help reduce anxiety and or depression.
With 16 years of experience in the Osseo Area School District, I have worked with many children of all ages ranging from 5-15 years old. I have a Master’s in Education as well as my 800 hour Yoga Therapy certification, and am a certified yoga therapist through IAYT (International Association of Yoga Therapists). I have worked with a diverse population of children including students with: Autism, ADD, ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, and self esteem issues.
How does this work? Initially, I meet with both the parent/s and the child to complete an intake form (a questionnaire to help me “get to know your child”). I then create a “plan” based on the needs of your child that I can determine and the desires of the parents. Your input is valuable, as you are the one who knows your child best!
Julie is an amazing teacher/human being. She not only cares about her job and teaching you something, but she cares about you and how you learn and adapts her teaching to what you need. Julie is an amazing teacher and I would recommend her to anybody!

I know from experience, if a child doesn’t feel comfortable, respected and/or trusted, they will not want to learn from you. I look forward to meeting both you and your child, and creating a plan together that will help him/her move forward in life with tools to empower them to learn and grow!
